About a month after the Korean version of Tree of Savior launched, yet another major gamebreaking event has occurred.
Source: Tree of Savior Reddit 2016 Feb. 07
Basically what happened was that a player exploited an oversight in the game's guild system, which apparently allows a guild to wage war against an unlimited amount of guilds. In addition, the player also managed to "kidnap" other players into his guild by spamming his guild invites, which looked just like party invite windows. Players thinking it was a party invite accepted the invitation and were unwittingly drawn into a guild they were not interested in. Because the player (the guildleader of the guild) had already declared war against other guilds, the "kidnapped" players were unable to leave the guild in the middle of the war. This is part of IMC Games's guild system that prevents players from deserting their guild in the middle of a war between guilds, so as to minimize malicious betrayals against guilds. Unfortunately, this worked to the player's advantage for his guild and the entire server on which this occurred became enthralled into a server-wide civil war against the player and his guild.
Players on the English Tree of Savior forums have expressed bafflement at how such an oversight has led to massive chaos and hope that IMC Games will consider reevaluating the guild system before launching the other versions of the game.
